A windy 10 miles
Just a quick post reflecting on our 10 mile LSD this past Sunday.
It. Was. Windy. My neighbor and I ran an out-and-back course and wisely chose to do the out into the wind. It was ridiculous. We were just laughing at how tough it was to run. We ran something like a 11:45/mile pace on the way out. I almost got blown off the sidewalk at one point. The entire time we just kept in mind how much better the return run would be.
It was a fun run and one to remember. On a “diabetic note” I had a HUGE spike afterwards. Roughly 3 hours of 12% basal will do that to you. I need to remember to try and replace a little bit of what was lost to compensate after these 10+ mile runs. I’m pretty sure the same thing happened after the Alton 10 mile race.
